Not from St. John's or Newfoundland? Not to worry! Let our ever amazing furry friend Hipmunk show you an easy way to fly here. Alternatively, you can travel via Marine Atlantic with or without a vehicle. Rowing is not advisable as you'll be too beat out for George Street – home of the most bars & pubs per square foot in North America!
Before you arrive be sure to check out an amazing website called Downtown St. John's. If you are too lazy or have little interest snapping your own photos or if you want a great local wedding & scenic photograper – the dapper Tom Brett awaits!
Hungry? There's lots of grub (food) around "town". Just outside St. John's in Portugal Cove resides the highly acclaimed fine dining restaurant and hotel called Atlantica. Back in "town" (us Newfoundlander's call St. John's "town", the largest city in the province – go figure!) you can dine at the Keg Steakhouse or many other cool places. But there is no need to rest soley on the internet for your culinary adventures, or anything for that matter. Simply ask people on the street and they'll be bound to help you out. If there was a Stanley Cup for the friendliest people on earth – it would never leave Newfoundland!
So don't be nish (shy) and ask away!
Are you here yet? Well give us a call "bye" (no, not boy, BYE.. it will take some time but you'll figure it out) and we'll jot ya around town in style. There are many places you can check out: the place where Marconi successfully sent the first transatlantic signal, hence the name Signal Hill, the Johnson Geo Center, and the East Coast Trail. We won't be able to drive you through the trail but we can certainly get you there. The "Rooms" is amazing, and you'll want to dart over to Quidi Vidi. You can also get a tour of the Marine Institute, take a stroll through Bowring Park, check out the Fort Amherst lighthouse at the mouth of the "narrows", tour the Basilica, and go to Cape Spear – North America's most easterly point.
We only scratched the surface on fun things to do while you are here in St. John's. It is a great place to be and we are your wheels for when you get here so give us a call today.
Oh! Hold on now "bye" we're not done with you yet. Your trip to St. John's and Newfoundland is not complete without getting screeched in.
Long may yer big jib draw! Translation: May the good wind be in your sails and back for a prosperous future!
